Most field-service software assumes employees on payroll. If your reps and technicians are subcontractors paid per job, you need something different: a clear rule for what each person earns, a record of what was paid, and a way for them to see it without asking you. KrewDash is built around that, and it does not charge per seat.

What changes when your crew are contractors
You are not running hours and payroll. You are paying a percentage or a rate for each completed job, and sometimes a commission for selling it. That makes pay the most emotional part of the business: if a crew member cannot see what they earned, they assume the worst.
How KrewDash tracks per-job pay
Earnings calculated per job. The job total times the crew member's percentage, with two reps able to split a sale. Commissions and leaderboard.
A portal each person can open. They see what is owed, upcoming, pending, sent and paid, and confirm a payout once the money lands. Crew portal and payouts.
A record of every payout. You record when each payout was sent, so nobody argues about whether it went out.
Reps who can sell on their own. A rep books jobs and sends service plans from their phone, and is credited for the sale and every generated visit. Service plans.
Turn people on and off. Deactivate someone who leaves and they lose access immediately.
What about 1099s and taxes?
KrewDash tracks earnings and payouts. It does not file taxes, run payroll or issue 1099 forms. Collecting a W-9 and preparing 1099-NEC data at year end is a planned item on the public request board, where you can vote for it. Until then, your accountant can work from the payout records. Talk to a tax professional about how your crew should be classified.
Why flat pricing matters for contractor crews
Contractor crews turn over and grow in bursts. A per-seat price penalizes that: every person you add, including the ones who quit in a month, changes your bill. At KrewDash the full plan is $297 a month for everyone, and the small plan is $97 for the owner plus two crew. See pricing.
Questions
Does KrewDash pay my subcontractors?
No. It calculates what each person earned, shows it to them and tracks when you sent each payout. It does not move money.
Can a subcontractor see only their own numbers?
Yes. Each crew member has their own login and sees their own jobs, earnings and payouts.
Does it file 1099s?
Not yet. Year-end W-9 and 1099-NEC support is planned on the public request board. It does not file taxes.
Is this only for contractors?
It works for any crew paid per job. It is not a payroll system.
